I am so excited to welcome you to my Art Shop - Unabashedly Human! Whether you stumbled upon it or came here intentionally, it’s my sincere pleasure to greet you and welcome you!

My name is Sally.

My whole life I have enjoyed the arts. Crafting in whichever way I could. Arts both tangible and intangible. Music, photography, poetry, wood crafting, ceramics, yarn work, any art medium honestly. I have a love of making myself and appreciating the works and creativity of others. To create is to be human. Art is influenced by our own lived experiences. Hopes, dreams, and memories from joyful to traumatic. It materializes the intangible, enabling it to be shared with others. It can be a way to process; to move through and past things. And a way to move into new chapters. Art transcends barriers like, ‘boarders,’ culture, language and time. It connects us in a truly human level.

To be human is to be fallible, imperfect. We err. We make mistakes. The goal is not to be perfect, but to be in process; to keep going. We earn bumps, bruises, scratches and scars. To get back up, on, or in it and try again. To keep working at it. To build resiliency - to build a story - This is the beauty in humanness. There is such beauty in the evidence of a life lived. I cherish the memory of my grandmother’s wrinkled hands, the crows feet besides my dad’s eyes when he really smiles, my own hair as it starts to show its silvery strands. Relationships that have grown stronger, deeper and more gratifying because we mutually chose to keep at it. To be vulnerable - and try again. Including my own relationship with myself.

Unabashedly: Doing or saying something proudly, boldly and without any shame, embarrassment or apology.

Humanness: the quality or state of being human, including our shared traits, flaws and capacity for connection.

This Art is Unabashedly Human - It is imperfect and in process. It is not computer generated or AI created. It starts with a pencil and paper, the table and me. I hope that what I create can bring you joy. It can bring you feeling. Maybe it will make you smile and do a human thing - connect us.
